It has been a long journey for me to get where I am today, but well worth it. Now I am a teacher of my favorite subject, Science, to the age group I can relate to most (middle school).  But there is so much to learn still and so many demands.  Not only do I teach my students the subject matter, but I counsel them, encourage them, listen to them, and fight for them. With students who can't read on a first grade level I find myself thinking outside the box of what I was taught to do as I find ways to help them understand the concepts. It seems time goes by so very quickly and often I forget what is the most important or to take a breather. In this busy world where there is so much to distract, so much to keep us going, so much to draw us away, it is no wonder it can be hard to keep track of the minutes, days, weeks, flying by swiftly.  Does this mean I am just a victim of time, doomed to just have to go for the ride? Can I really control time......... Not really as it is like the ever lasting river that listens to no one, it sets its own path eroding away, rushing at some times, being extraordinary ripped and harsh at others, and sometimes running smooth, clear. The ability to make a language out of sounds is what makes humans separate from all that roam this planet many say, but is it a curse or gift? I say this, because this ability to manipulate and twist our vocal cords to produce a series of sounds that become a complex language that literally millions if not more people speak can cause not great good but great evil.  There is a saying "think before you speak" and sometimes I feel that many this day do not take heed of this old wise phrase.  Words once spoken flow away on wind and can not be grasp back, but will forever continue the flight.  So I say that more of us need to heed our words before
